scam alert
If a caller or a texter from what seems to be your Credit Union or bank has personal information about you, they must be genuine, right?... WRONG!
Scammers can learn so much about you from social media - treat every unsolicited call or text with suspicion!
Make sure you stay safe and scam-aware by following these simple guidelines…
BE WARY of unsolicited calls or text messages, even if they have some personal information about you!
For phone calls, always confirm that the caller is genuine by telling them you’ll hang up and call them on the number listed on their organisation’s website.
Never share personal or sensitive information before confirming that the call or text is, in fact, genuine. The Credit Union will never ask you to reveal your account details over the phone or by text message.

Remember that it takes two people to disconnect a landline phone call, but you can always use a different phone to confirm the caller is from the organisation they are claiming to work for!
